The Fruit of Peace
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7)
Shalom!
Who doesn’t want peace?
Sometimes peace is all I long for in this crazy world.
As Christians, we are called to be peaceful in our dealings with others, but we all know it is not as easy as it sounds.
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
I greeted you with the word “Shalom” above.
Shalom is the Hebrew word for Peace.
Shalom is when a person knows they are safe, but it is not just that.
According to Billy Graham, shalom is not only the absence of conflict, but a deep abiding peace.
Before it was time for Jesus to give up his life for humanity, He said to his disciples,
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
True peace comes from God; the deeper we know God, the deeper this peace becomes.
So do not be afraid, He is with you.
When we abide in the vine, God promises that we will bear fruit.
I wish you a deep peace that surpasses all understanding.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
