“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,

great is your faithfulness.

therefore I will wait for him.”
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man to bear the yoke
while he is young.”
We have been working through the nice characteristics of the fruit of the Holy Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control.
In this newsletter, we are looking at Faithfulness.
Do you trust God?
It takes time to build our faith in God. When our faith in God is low, we can find ourselves in all kinds of trouble.
We learn to be faithful to God because He is first faithful to us.
Faithfulness is a beautiful virtue. Think of a relationship you’ve had or still have that is based on trust, loyalty, and steadfast love. Someone you can depend upon in the good and bad times.
Isn’t it comforting to have a person like this who’s got your back?
Now, think of the opposite of faithfulness - unfaithfulness (betrayal).
Betrayal is hurtful. It shakes the foundations of our world and causes us to reassess all our relationships. It can be difficult to recover from betrayal.
God’s faithfulness causes us to be faithful.
We grow in faith through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We bear fruit by abiding in the vine. The character of God Himself is manifested in us.
The Lord expects us to have faith and He will be looking for faith when He returns.
“…when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
